Michigan House Bill 4569 (2007) calls for the phase out of pharmaceutical Lindane. Lindane is an organochlorine pesticide banned or restricted for use in 85 countries. It is still used in Michigan and most U.S. states as a treatment for lice and scabies. Safer alternatives exist. The bill is supported by multiple health professional organizations and has passed the House. It currently sits in the Senate Health Policy Committee waiting for review. Continue reading →
